Tom Brady - Winning Through Focusing On What He Can Control

Based in Newton, MA, James MacKenzie has been involved with diverse aspects of the construction industry, and possesses previous supervisory experience with AJM Group. An aspiring professional golfer who also enjoys playing basketball, baseball, and football, James MacKenzie follows all the major sports teams in the Newton, MA, area and was particularly inspired by the success of quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots team he captained to Super Bowl victory.

Coming into the 2016 season at age 39, Tom Brady was considered past his prime by many in the football world, and he also faced a “Deflategate" ruling that held the threat of suspension. Instead of letting the pressure get to him, Brady switched gears to focus fully on the moment and what he had to accomplish to bring his team to the title again.

Letting go of what he could not control, Brady took his team to a Super Bowl game in which he found himself facing a 28-3 deficit after a dismal first half against the Falcons. He was again able to maintain control and focus, convincing himself and his team that the biggest comeback in NFL history was possible. By focusing on what he was able to accomplish, rather than dwelling on first half mistakes, he helped his team obtain ultimate championship glory.
